2017 Flu Vaccine Clinics for the IUP Community

Rite Aid will be on campus to administer flu vaccinations to the IUP Community on October 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and October 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the HUB Susquehanna Room.  A higher flu shot dose is available for those over age 65.

Faculty, Managers, Coaches, OPEIU, and SPFPA employees and their covered dependents ages 9 and older enrolled in the Highmark PPO or the UPMC HMO plan can receive a free flu vaccine by presenting their health insurance ID card. (Eligibility for Healthy U Points when you receive your flu vaccination)

AFSCME, SCUPA, and PSSU employees and their covered dependents ages 9 and older enrolled in a PEBTF health plan, both PPO's and all HMO's, can receive a free flu vaccine by presenting their CVS/Caremark prescription drug card or their health insurance ID card.
**Please bring both cards**. Those not covered by a PASSHE or PEBTF health plan can also receive a flu shot at one of the flu shot clinics subject to a vaccination fee (cash only is due at the time the vaccine is administered). Receipts are available upon request by the pharmacy.

Registration is not required, however, in an effort to minimize your wait time, you are encouraged attend a clinic according to the following schedule:

E - L 10:00am - 11:00am

M - R 11:00am - Noon

S - Z Noon to 1:00pm

First Letter of Last Name / Recommended Time to Attend the Flu Shot Clinic

A - D 11:00am - Noon

E - L Noon - 1:00pm

M - R 1:00pm - 2:00pm

S - Z 2:00pm - 3:00pm

Other Opportunities for Receiving Flu Shots
All Highmark members (who are age 9 and older) can obtain a free flu shot at any Rite Aid, Giant Eagle, Gatti or CVS Pharmacy in Pennsylvania.  No appointment is necessary - the member must present their Highmark health insurance ID card.
Highmark members of all ages can obtain a free flu shot from their physician, however, an office visit co-payment may apply.

HMO members can also obtain a flu shot at their primary care provider's office (office visit co-payment may apply). Flu shots may also be obtained at any pharmacy or clinic that accepts HMO insurance or, if the pharmacy/clinic is non-participating, a claim form for reimbursement for out of pocket expenses may be submitted. A claim form is attached and receipts are available upon request from the pharmacy.

The Mindfulness Living Learning Community offers meditation sittings to any student, faculty, or staff member as an opportunity to learn the practice and sit with others to meditate. It often goes better in a group!

The facilitator will offer a guided meditation to help you along. No prior experience is necessary.

Lil Uzi Vert: Live at IUP Homecoming 2017

STATIC presents Lil Uzi Vert, live in concert, to kick-off IUP's Homecoming celebrations on Thursday, October 5, in the Kovalchick Complex. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m., and the show will begin at 8:00 p.m. The concert will also feature special guest, BIA! Both I-Card and public tickets are still available. I-Card tickets can be purchased in person at the KCAC Box Office. Tickets for the general public can be purchased in person at the KCAC Box Office or online. Tickets are $20 with an I-Card, plus a $2 facility fee, or $40 for the general public, plus all applicable fees. According to the artist’s biography, “Symere Woods, better known by his stage name Lil Uzi Vert, is an American hip hop recording artist. Based in Philadelphia, he gained recognition after releasing his debut single, "Money Longer," and several mixtapes, including Luv Is Rage, Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World, and The Perfect Luv Tape. Lil Uzi Vert has also collaborated with Migos on "Bad and Boujee," which became Lil Uzi Vert's first US Billboard Hot 100 number-one single. In August 2017, Lil Uzi Vert released his debut studio album, Luv Is Rage 2, where it reached number one on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart.
