Pushing Petals

Kipp Gallary, First Floor Spowls Hall

The Lively Arts

In the exhibit "Pushing Petals" the work of Jillian Dickson and Elaine Quave examines human cycles of birth and death and the connection between the human body and wild nature. These artists fuse nature and the human body together to function and be understood as a singular unit and to help us recognize that we are dependent on the ecosystems around us for our sustenance and survival.

Concert: Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra

Fisher Auditorium, IUP Performing Arts Center

The Lively Arts

Another season commences and a long-time tradition continues as the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra graces the Fisher stage for a spectacular performance featuring baritone Matthias Goerne. Holding to its mission to “engage, enrich, and inspire through unparalleled live musical experiences,” the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Manfred Honeck, is scheduled to begin the evening with Sibelius’ “The Swan of Tuonela, No. 2” from Legends, Opus 22, followed by the return of their recently Grammy® nominated performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, “Eroica.” Join us afterwards in the Crimson Café for our annual PSO Post-Show Reception.
