The director of the IUP Symphony Orchestra, Rebekah O’Brien, was featured in a recent article by the Centre Daily Times for her work in starting the New Ground Orchestra Festival. The event, which takes place in State College, brings female orchestral musicians from across the world to Pennsylvania.

The IUP Voice Area earned top awards at Susquehanna University for the Eastern Region National Association of Teachers of Singing Conference in March 2026. Of the six competing students from IUP, five advanced to the semifinals, and four competed in the final rounds and placed in the top three of their categories.
