John Prosperi M’85

John Prosperi

John Prosperi M’85, former director of continuing education at the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center, was presented the Saint Francis University Dr. John Powers Educator of the Year Award at a dinner for family and friends hosted by Fr. Gabriel Zeis, president of Saint Francis.

“John has distinguished himself over his thirty-four-year career as an educator and administrator who has inspired others in the same way that Dr. Powers inspired so many Saint Francis students during his career here,” said Fr. Zeis. “John is a most worthy recipient.”

Prosperi began his career in education at Bishop Guilfoyle High School in 1973 as school counselor and later as director of guidance. In 1979, he moved to the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center where he served in a variety of roles for twenty-eight years until his retirement in 2007.
