Fifty years ago this
past August, the men pictured here entered IUP as freshmen. Little did they know they would be keeping in touch and still getting together as friends so many years later.
For the sixth consecutive year, they gathered in July 2019 for a weekend of fun and reminiscing. After meeting in Indiana from 2014 to 2016, they decided to try something different. In 2017, they moved their party to northwestern Pennsylvania and named
it IUP-in-the-Woods. Again this year, the group met at Flying W Ranch near Tionesta for a weekend of golf, kayaking the Allegheny River, visiting local hotspots, gathering around a campfire, and listening to classic rock music.
Pictured here, left to right in the front row, are Charlie Morgan ’75 of Verona, Paul Beam ’74 of Natrona Heights, and Ralph Barone ’73 of Fairview Park, Ohio. In back are George Bender ’73 and Bob Young ’73, both of Sarver, Gary Cleaver ’73 of Easton,
Fred Gagliardi of Freedom, and the newest member, Greg Jack ’73 of Wexford. Unfortunately, two regulars, Jim Griffith ’73 of Bethel Park and Charlie Parke of Presto, were not able to make this year’s gathering.
The group wishes to expand its numbers and is constantly reaching out to other friends from IUP. For more information, email Ralph Barone at email@example.com.
