For the fifth consecutive year, a group of IUP friends who met
as freshmen in 1969 gathered for an informal reunion.
In 2014 and 2015, a much larger group (17 in all) met at IUP and took in an IUP football game, visited local watering holes, ate at Bruno’s restaurant, and toured the campus.
In 2016, the group changed venues, moving to the Tionesta area, where they went kayaking on the Allegheny River, played golf, and relaxed around a fire in the evening while listening to classic rock music from their days at IUP.
Over the weekend of July 13-15, 2018, a smaller group met again in the Tionesta area for a weekend of recreation, reminiscing, and just having a great time with old friends. The friends include Ralph Barone ’73, South Euclid, Ohio; George Bender ’73,
Sarver; Bob Young ’73, Sarver; Paul Beam ’74, Natrona Heights; Charlie Morgan ’75, Penn Hills; Fred Gagliardi, Freedom; and Charlie Parke, Presto. Reunion regulars Gary Cleaver ’73, Easton, and Jim Griffith ’73, Bethel Park, were unable to attend.
The group has tried to increase its numbers, with limited success, and invites those who have had contact with the group in the past to please get in touch so that details about next year’s gathering can be provided. For more information, contact Ralph
