Food editor at the Philadelphia Inquirer, Maureen Fitzgerald ’79 won the Health Partners Foundation Award for her blog, My Daughter’s Kitchen. She started the blog to teach her daughter how to cook nutritious meals on a budget and now uses it to chronicle cooking lessons she gives children in an after-school program. The program has expanded to 10 schools with help from 20 volunteers.

Fitzgerald is also a nominee for Philly Magazine’s Be Well Philly Health Hero Award and a finalist for a National Association of Black Journalists award.
