Chris Ofalt ’98 Honors Sandy Hook Victims with Song

Chris Ofalt

A third-grade teacher in the Interboro School District, Chris Ofalt ’98 wrote and recorded a song, “Why?” to pay tribute to the victims and heroes of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in December. The song is featured on a CD, Voices from around the World, the Music, available on the Voices for Heroes website. All proceeds from CD sales benefit the Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids and provide musical instruments for the Newtown School District Music Department. Chris was interviewed about the song for the June issue of the Pennsylvania State Education Association’s Voice magazine.

In addition to teaching, he is a singer, songwriter, and cover artist who has been performing in the Philadelphia area for more than 10 years. He is also a career networking and admissions volunteer for IUP. Watch Chris’s “Why?” video montage on YouTube.
