The Toronto Transit Commission has recognized David Veights ’80 for outstanding performance.
David, an employee of Delcan, received the Employee Recognition Award for his work on the Transit Expansion Program, an environmental assessment of a thirty-three-kilometer light rail line under a very aggressive schedule mandated by the client.
David has over thirty years of experience in the transportation field and has been with Delcan since 2008. He currently serves as the senior project coordinator for a twenty-kilometer light rail line along Eglinton Avenue through midtown Toronto.
He also developed a monitoring system to verify compliance with the requirements of Ontario Regulation 231/08, the Transit Project Assessment Process, for use in all Transit City projects.
Besides receiving his BS in Regional Planning from IUP, David earned his Master of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
