More than $12,000 was individually raised by Jeffrey Gittler ’80 for the American Cancer Society’s 2011 Relay For Life in Ocean City, N.J.
Gittler, a partner in the leading accounting, tax, and business consulting firm of Citrin Cooperman (Philadelphia), led the charge to support Relay for Life.

The twenty members of Citrin Cooperman’s team gathered at Ocean City High School and took turns walking and running around the school’s track, and raised $15, 652 in honor of the Society’s mission to eliminate and prevent cancer.

“The fight against cancer is a cause that is near to my heart, so it was moving to see my colleagues rally and support this great program and organization,” Gittler said. “Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives people a chance to celebrate the lives of those we know that have battled cancer, to remember lost loved ones, and to fight back against this major health problem.”

Gittler is a member of the firm’s quality control group. Prior to joining, Gittler served as a technical manager at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Since 1980, he has worked for a number of accounting firms in Eastern Pennsylvania, providing accounting and tax services to a variety of industries.
