Marjorie Lantz Kaufman and Arnold Steiner, class of 1935

As a result of an IUP alumni event held in February 2010 in Scottsdale, Ariz., two graduates from the class of 1935 had the opportunity to meet and renew their friendship after seventy-five years.

Because Arnold Steiner had brought his 1935 yearbook to the alumni event, a third party recognized that both Arnold and Marjorie Lantz Kaufman are living in Phoenix. The two class members met for lunch at a local restaurant and enjoyed sharing memories about their college days at Indiana.

Arnold was graduated from Indiana with a degree in Secondary Education, and Marjorie earned a degree in Music. Both were members of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in the field of education.

Arnold, who retired from the business world, lives in his own home in Phoenix. He still drives and plays bridge five days a week. Marjorie recently moved with her husband of seventy-five years to a retirement home in Phoenix. She is retired from teaching, has traveled to over eight-five countries, and continues to play the piano.
