Chromebooks at IUP

Chromebooks can access MyIUP, IUP email, D2L, and perform many of the same tasks as Windows and Mac computers, but some software will not operate to its fullest potential.

What We Can Do for You:

  • Diagnose hardware issues related to memory, hard drive, and power supply failure

  • Provide temporary backup and restore services1

  • Clean a malware/virus-infected PC2

  • Install applications

For student-owned computers, we will attempt to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Walk-ins are accepted, but students with hardware issues are encouraged to request an appointment via ihelpIf more time is needed, the computer can be checked in for additional work. Students must sign in when visiting the Student Computing Help Desk prior to service being rendered. We reserve the right to refuse service in the event we feel any work will be a liability to our staff and/or void a factory warranty.

Please Note:
1We make no guarantee that we will be able to retrieve information off of your device.
2We cannot guarantee that we can fully restore an infected machine, and we may recommend completely rebuilding the machine. In the event we need to rebuild your machine, it is the student's responsibility to provide an operating system disk and/or key to reinstall the operating system. The student is also responsible for any software that they wish to reinstall on the system after the rebuild.
