Sandy has been a member of the Foundation for IUP board since July 2010 and is a past president of the IUP Alumni Association Board of Directors. As a Foundation board member, she serves on the Governance and Strategic Planning committees, and chairs
the Development/Fundraising committee. In 2014, she was honored with the IUP Distinguished Alumni Award for Service. Sandy is the founder and president of BarComm, a full-service marketing and communications firm based in Pittsburgh that provides
senior-level strategy, expertise, and writing services to clients in North America and Europe. Sandy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from IUP.
Dave joined the board in 2017 and currently serves on the Audit Committee. He served as an advisor on the Audit Committee since 2015. Dave is a partner with BKD LLP CPAs and Advisors. He was selected in 2009 for the Eberly College of Business Outstanding
Entrepreneur award and currently serves on the Business School’s Advisory Council. Dave serves on the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh board of directors as vice chair and is a past board advisor for the Baierl Family YMCA and Camps Kon-O-Kwee/Spencer.
Tim joined the board in 2015 and serves on the Fundraising Committee. Tim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from IUP. He went on to found a pharmacy software company that ultimately employed more than 400 people when it was sold
to a public company. He is now the president of ElecTekUSA, a political campaign software company. As a board member of the IUP Alumni Association since 2012, Tim has been active in college activities both locally in Indiana and the Pittsburgh area.
Tim also is on the board of directors of CASANA, a national organization dedicated to helping children with a rare neurological disorder called Apraxia. In 2010, Tim received the Jefferson Award for community service for his work with special-needs
Rich has been a member of the board since July 2007 and currently serves as its president. Previously, Rich chaired the Investment and Nominating committees. Rich serves as the chief financial officer at RG Steel, LLC, is an independent financial consultant,
and he brings a wide range of financial expertise to the Foundation board.
Terry has been a member of the board since July 2010 and is in his second term on the board. Terry serves as the vice president of the Foundation as well as chairman of the Governance committee and a member of the Strategic Planning committee. He is a
principal of Sweetwater LLC and serves on the board of directors for Matthews International (MATW), TimkenSteel (TMST), Elliott Group (EBARA), as well as the advisory board for Innovu. He retired from Allegheny Technologies (ATI) in 2015 after a 31-year
career, most recently serving as executive vice president of ATI Flat-Rolled Products Group and 12 years as the president of ATI Allegheny Ludlum. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Eberly College of Business as well as an Honorary Doctorate
of Public Service at IUP and attended Loyola University–Chicago in the MBA program.
Tim has been a member of the board since February 2009 and serves as secretary-treasurer. He is also a member of the Executive and Investment committees and serves as chair on the Finance Committee. Tim is a certified public accountant who holds a Bachelor
of Arts degree from Penn State. He is the president and CEO of Indiana First Bank in Indiana.
Ruth has been a member of the board since July 2006 and serves on the Governance and Development/Fundraising Committee. She has been in higher education since 1968, when she attended graduate school at Kent State University. After receiving a master’s
degree in Counseling at Kent State, she became the first woman administrator at Washington & Jefferson College. In 1979, she moved to Indiana with her husband to begin her career at IUP as the associate director of Career Services, later becoming
the director of that office. While in Career Services, she completed her doctorate in Higher Education Administration at the University of Pittsburgh. In 1992, she was asked to serve as interim assistant to the president, and, after a national search
in 1993, she was appointed executive assistant to the president. In November 2002, she was named interim vice president for Institutional Advancement and executive director of the Foundation for IUP and served in that role through April 2004.
Frank has been a member of the board since July 2008 and serves on the Executive and Finance committees and as chair of the Investment Committee. Frank holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, New
York. Before his retirement, he was president of Punxsutawney’s Frank Roberts and Sons, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor serving the natural gas exploration industry and heavy highway contractors in the United States and Canada. He is a director
for the Punxsutawney Area Hospital, a member of the Punxsutawney Area College Trust committee, and also serves as president of the Punxsutawney Regional Development Corporation.
Tim has been a member of the Foundation for IUP board since July 2004 and served as president from 2010 to 2015. He is the Foundation’s first director emeritus. Tim is also a recipient of IUP’s Distinguished Alumni Award and the President’s Medal of Distinction.
Tim graduated from IUP with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. Before his retirement, Tim was president and CEO of RTI International Metals, Inc., in Pittsburgh. RTI, recently purchased by Alcoa, is a titanium company serving aerospace,
defense, energy, and industrial markets. He joined RTI in 1991, following a 23-year career with U.S. Steel. Tim is the lead director of Calgon Carbon Corporation in Pittsburgh.
Dan joined the board in 2015 and serves on the Finance and Investment committees. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from IUP’s Eberly College of Business and Information Technology and a MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, Katz Graduate School
of Business. He is currently managing director of Confluence Advisors, an Investment Banking Firm, and has more than 25 years of diverse experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and accounting. Dan is a certified public accountant
in Pennsylvania (inactive) and is a past board member and treasurer of the Association for Corporate Growth, Pittsburgh Chapter. He is an owner of Burrell Scientific, a manufacturer and distributor of laboratory instruments, chemicals, and supplies,
and Reagents, a manufacturer and distributor of laboratory chemicals.
Bill rejoined the board in July 2010, having served previously as the representative of the IUP Alumni Association from 2005 to 2008. Currently, Bill serves as chair of the Audit Committee and as a member of the Governance, Strategic Planning, and Executive
Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from IUP’s Eberly College of Business and Information Technology. Bill retired as a partner from the international accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, in 2004 and then served
for six years as the executive director of Thorp Reed & Armstrong, LLP (now Clark Hill, PLC), a regional law firm based in Pittsburgh. He is currently a regional director for McKinley Carter Wealth Services, a registered investment advisory firm.
He received the IUP Distinguished Alumni Award in 1990, the Outstanding Business Alumni Award from the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology in 2001, and Eberly’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002. He was also inducted into the Eberly
College of Business and Information Technology Hall of Distinction. He currently serves as a member of Eberly’s Business Advisory Council. Bill is a past president of the IUP Alumni Association.
Andrew has been a member of the board since July 2004. He serves on the Governance Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from IUP and a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University.
Andrew is an attorney and partner in the law firm Holland and Knight, LLP, in Washington, D.C., and served as the executive partner of the firm’s Abu Dhabi office in the United Arab Emirates. He has been a practicing attorney for 39 years and is a
partner in the International Construction Industry Practice Group. He has a minor in labor and employment law. Andrew is the first member to serve a third consecutive term on the foundation board due to “special circumstances,” meaning his expertise
will continue to be needed into the next couple of years. His volunteer efforts during the four-phase Residential Revival project at IUP, which began in earnest the year he came onto the board, were such that the university and Council of Trustees
decided to name the building in the fourth, and final, phase Andrew W. Stephenson Hall.
Upper St. Clair
Greg joined the board in July 2015. He has served as an advisor on the Audit Committee since July 2012. Currently, he serves on the Audit and Investment committees. Greg holds a Bachelor of Science degree from IUP’s Eberly College of Business and Information
Technology and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business. Greg also serves on the board of directors of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pittsburgh and is a member of Eberly College’s Business Advisory Council.
He served on the IUP Alumni Association board of directors from 2002 to 2008. He is senior vice president and regional marketing manager at Wells Fargo Bank in Pittsburgh.
Regina returned in July 2014 to the board after first serving two terms in the early 2000s. She is currently chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and a member of the Executive, Audit, and Finance committees and previously served as chair of the Investment
Committee. Regina holds a Bachelor of Science degree from IUP’s Eberly College of Business and Information Technology and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. In 1999, Regina was honored as an IUP Distinguished Alumna. She is a retired managing
director at BNY Mellon with expertise in portfolio risk management, fiduciary compliance, and auditing.
Rick joined the board in July 2012. He currently serves on the Audit, Strategic Planning, and Investment committees. Rick holds a Bachelor of Science degree from IUP’s Eberly College of Business and Information Technology. He is currently co-owner and
chief financial officer of Acuity Finishing, located in Cranberry Township, as well as financial advisor to several small businesses. He also serves on the board of directors of Wesley Spectrum Services and as a member of Eberly College’s Business
