Welcome to first lunch and learn session of the Foreign Languages for Diversity and Inclusion Series (FOLDIS). We will begin with BaFa' BaFa', a face-to-face learning simulation intended to improve participants' cultural competency by helping participants understand the impact of culture on the behavior of people and organizations.

Participants become members of two new cultures with different values, ways of behaving, and ways of solving problems. Participants will interact with one another thus improving their cultural competency and understanding the impact of culture on the behavior of people in any setting and in any language.

Shared Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will understand the impact of culture on human behavior.
  • Participants will value others by appreciating cultural diversity
  • Participants will reduce inhibitions in binational or international groups

This event is in partnership between Center for Teaching Excellence and Department of Foreign Languages, FOLDIS - Foreign Language Diversity and Inclusion Series

Faculty members are eligible to earn CTE Reflective Practice Active/Active Plus Membership status by attending.
