In recognition of the twenty-first anniversary of September 11, 2001, the IUP community will take time to reflect on 9/11 and how it changed our world.

Please join us Monday, September 12, 2022, as we gather to commemorate the tragic events of 9/11. The program will begin at 11:30 a.m. near the 9/11 memorial in the Oak Grove.

We will mourn those we lost, remember those who helped us recover, and consider how we all were affected—and continue to be—by that day.

Speakers

  • Master of Ceremonies: Erich Steffens, lieutenant colonel, US Army; chair, IUP Department of Military Science

  • Michael Driscoll, IUP president

  • Kristen Collins, a senior in the Public Health/Behavior and Mental Health program and an IUP Ambassador

  • Dan Sacco, former safety director at Indiana Regional Medical Center, IUP emergency medical services adjunct instructor, and first responder at the World Trade Center

Music will be performed by the IUP Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Timothy Paul, director of bands.

In the event of inclement weather, the program will be moved to Fisher Auditorium.
