Please join the IUP Symphony Band and the premiere performance of IUP's new University Band. The University Band is a collaboration of the Music Department and IUP Community Music School, with participating players consisting of IUP non-music majors, IUP music majors on secondary instruments, and community members.
Both of these ensembles will perform a wide variety of works highlighting some of America's finest composers, including Aaron Copland, Leroy Anderson, John Philip Sousa, Frank Ticheli, and more. Joining the IUP Symphony Band will be trumpet soloist Kevin Eisensmith performing Clifton Williams' Dramatic Essay for Trumpet and Band, as well as Curtis Scheib signing several of Aaron Copland's "Old American Songs." Our guest conductors include Scott Jones from Ohio State University, Patrick Burns from Montclair State University, and IUP's own Stephanie Caulder.
