RAINN Day is IUP's way of showing support for the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN),
our nations's largest anti-sexual violence organization.
You are invited to the Oak Grove to view the umbrella display, which aims to bring awareness, empowerment, and support to our campus community. Stop by the resource tables to talk to a representative or to pick up information.
According to RAINN, campus sexual violence is a pervasive risk:
- On college campuses, 13 percent of all students experience rape or sexual assault, with rates even higher for undergraduate women (26.4 percent) and students with nonconforming social identities (21 percent).
- 26.4 percent of female and 6.8 percent of male undergraduate students experience assault involving physical force, violence, and incapacitation.
