Criminal Justice Reform with IUP Alum Terrell Thomas

HUB Ohio Room Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement

The United States incarcerates more people, in both absolute numbers and per capita, than any other nation in the world and continues to expand our criminal justice system. The ACLU campaign for Smart Justice is an unprecedented, multi-year effort to reduce the US jail and prison population by 50 percent and to combat racial disparities

ACLU employee and IUP alumnus Terrell Thomas is the Senior Field Organizer for this campaign and the executive director of the Isiah Project and My Brother's Keeper. Terrell works on fixing the racial disparities inherent in the criminal justice system and will be talking about his work with the ACLU.
