Catherine Dugan (Department for Disability Access and Advising, D2A2) and April Flowers (graduate, biology) presented “Dyslexia: Facts and Experiences” at the screening of Confetti, hosted by Shijuan (“Laurel”) Liu as a part of Asian American Pacific Islanders Heritage Month.

Supplementing the film’s story of a child with dyslexia and her educational journey, Dugan and Flowers presented a forum on what dyslexia is, the effects on learning, and the evolution of a successful student (and her parent) with learning. Flowers was joined by her mother, who described the family experience and evolution of understanding about learning styles.
