DAPi, the first honor society of its kind in the nation, was established in 2004 at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania to recognize the academic accomplishments of college and university students with disabilities. DAPi presents an opportunity to change negative perceptions of disability by recognizing students with disabilities for their academic accomplishments. IUP's local chapter of DAPi (Beta Zeta chapter) was established in the spring semester of 2011.
