According to the artist bio: “AJR feature the talents of the Met brothers, Adam (vocals/bass), Jack (vocals/guitar), and Ryan (guitar/piano/vocals), who grew up in New York and got their start busking around the city, covering songs by such bands as Fun., Vampire Weekend, and the Beach Boys. A link to one of the group's videos caught the ear of Australian pop singer Sia Furler, whose manager put the band in contact with former Columbia president Steve Greenberg. Greenberg then signed on as AJR's manager, and in 2013 the trio released their debut independent single, "I'm Ready." Well-received, the track peaked at number 27 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart, and appeared on an initial EP as well as the band's 2015 full-length debut album, Living Room. The single "Weak" followed in 2016, reaching number eight on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club chart and achieving platinum status. It was included on AJR's sophomore full-length, 2017's The Click, which also featured the single "Drama" and the track "Sober Up" with Weezer's Rivers Cuomo. Following an expanded deluxe edition of The Click in 2018, the brothers returned in early 2019 with the bouncy "100 Bad Days" single. Another single, titled "Birthday Party," followed in March 2019. Both tracks were included on third LP Neotheater, which reached number eight on the Billboard 200. AJR spent much of the year touring and eventually returned in 2020 with the bombastic pop single "Bang!"“

On Thursday, November 19, STATIC hosts a virtual Netflix & Chill movie night featuring Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Event begins at 8:00 p.m.
In Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, "charmingly soft-spoken and yet powerfully incisive expressing his profound ideals, Fred Rogers was a unique presence on television for generations. Through interviews of his family and colleagues, the life of this would-be pastor is explored as a man who found a more important calling to provide an oasis for children in a video sea of violent bombardment. That proved to be his landmark series, MisteRogers Neighborhood (1968), a show that could gently delve into important subjects no other children's show would have dared for that time. In doing so, Rogers experienced a career where his sweet-tempered idealism charmed and influenced the world whether it be scores of children on TV or recalcitrant authorities in government. However, that beloved personality also hid Rogers' deep self-doubts about himself and occasional misjudgments even as he proved a rock of understanding in times of tragedy for a world that did not always comprehend a man of such noble character.”

In The Lorax, "twelve-year-old Ted (Zac Efron) lives in a place virtually devoid of nature; no flowers or trees grow in the town of Thneedville. Ted would very much like to win the heart of Audrey (Taylor Swift), the girl of his dreams, but to do this, he must find that which she most desires: a Truffula tree. To get it, Ted delves into the story of the Lorax (Danny DeVito), once the gruff guardian of the forest, and the Once-ler (Ed Helms), who let greed overtake his respect for nature."
In The Grinch, "the Grinch (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his loyal
dog, Max, live a solitary existence inside a cave on Mount Crumpet. His
main source of aggravation comes during Christmastime when his
neighbours in Whoville celebrate the holidays with a bang. When the Whos
decide to make Christmas bigger and brighter, the disgruntled Grinch
realizes there is one way to gain peace and quiet. With help from Max,
the green grump hatches a scheme to pose as Santa Claus, steal
Christmas, and silence the Whos' holiday cheer once and for all."
STATIC will ask various pieces of Dr. Seuss universe trivia, with the winner taking home some amazing prizes.
