The Academic Achievement Awards in Chemistry are given to chemistry and biochemistry students who have excelled academically in the previous calendar year.
The following criteria will be used for upperclassmen:
- Academic standing is based on course sequence, not total number of credits earned.
- Students must also be enrolled in the current spring semester.
- An average chemistry GPA of 3.0 in all chemistry courses taken during the previous spring semester, summer, and fall semester.
- A minimum of seven credits in chemistry. Internship credits will not be used.
Freshman awards will be determined by:
Chemistry grades, overall GPA, and the chemistry professors teaching Chemistry 112, evaluation of the student’s current course averages.
