Join the IUP Career and Professional Development Center on Monday, September 19, at 6:00 p.m. in the Great Room in Elkin Hall for the panel-style discussion, "Graduate School: Is it the Right Step for Me?"

Panelists for this event include Lucy Archer (MA’22), Jamaal Gosa (’15, MA’17), Koga Chilume (MEd’20, current doctoral candidate in the Curriculum and Instruction program), and Andrew Longacre (’'13, MBA’19).

This event is both a part of the Six O’Clock Series, which is coordinated through the Multicultural Center for Student Leadership and Engagement, and the Career and Professional Development Center’s Career Ready Seminar Series, which aims to provide targeted programming to help IUP students gain and understand the necessary skills and competencies to be successful in life after graduation.

Amber Dworek, director of Graduate Admissions, will be moderating the panel. Dworek commented on the event, saying, “As the director of Graduate Admissions and an alumna of IUP, I am excited to moderate the Graduate Panel Discussion. This is a great opportunity for students to learn more and to help demystify misconceptions surrounding graduate education, learn about resources available to graduate students, and hear stories and tips for success from those who have attended graduate school. Knowledge is power, and this opportunity empowers our IUP students to learn more to better prepare for life after you earn your bachelor’s degree.”

Kelsey Thompson, associate director of the CPDC, who helped to spearhead the coordination of the event, said, “We are excited for this panel and the opportunity to connect our current students with all these fantastic panelists. They each bring a unique perspective surrounding graduate school and their career path, and I know they are excited to share their experiences and advice with current students. We are looking forward to a great panel and discussion on this topic.”
