Additional Opportunities to Engage with Employers This March

In addition to our on-campus career fair, students can engage with employers at two off-campus career fairs this spring.

The Western PA Collegiate Career Services Association (WestPACS) hosts collegiate career fairs for Pittsburgh and the surrounding Western Pennsylvania region twice a year. The job, internship, and graduate school fair is always held in a central location, most recently at the newly renovated Monroeville Convention Center. WestPACS’ goal is to provide a central location for current college students, alumni, employers, and graduate schools to connect.

This spring the fair will be held in two parts—on Wednesday, March 9, it will be in-person at the Monroeville Convention Center; then on Thursday, March 10, it will be held online via Handshake. Registration and employer information will be made available on WestPACS in February. For the in-person fair, candidates must register by Monday, March 7, at midnight, or same-day attendees will pay $10 at the door. Registration for the online fair component will remain open throughout the day of the fair.

Also in March is the Pittsburgh Education Recruitment Consortium (PERC) Education Job Fair, a well-respected regional and national recruitment event. The job fair attracts over 200 employers from 25 states across the US and several international organizations. Participating employers interview and hire teacher candidates in all pre-K-12 disciplines as well as related professional certification areas such as school counseling, school social work, speech-language pathology, OT, PT, and nursing. This year PERC will be held online via Handshake. Registration and employer information is available.

For both events, students and alumni are encouraged to dress in business or business casual attire as well as bring several résumés with them.
