Microsoft Office is available to all enrolled students, staff, and faculty through IUP's Microsoft 365 subscription.
The Windows download includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, and Access. The Mac download does not include Publisher or Access, but does include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook. The Mobile download includes Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, and OneNote Mobile. You will not be able to install any of the Microsoft 365 applications on a Chromebook. You will, however, have access to the online versions of the applications.
Office applications can also be accessed in the IUP public computing labs and the Virtual Computer Lab.
How to Install Office applications on Windows or macOS
See below for IOS or Android instructions.
- Open a browser and navigate to https://portal.office.com/account/.
- Sign in with your IUP credentials and authenticate.
- Click the "Install Office" button under the Office apps & devices section to download the installer.
- After running the installer, launch Word, then click "Sign in or create account" when prompted and sign in with your IUP email and password. This will activate all provided Office applications.
If you wish to license additional devices, simply follow the installation instructions for any macOS or Windows Device.
For IOS or Android, download the Microsoft 365 application from the respective app store. Once this is downloaded, enter your IUP credentials to sign in to use the application.
Managing Your Account
If you wish to de-authorize an installation, click on the User Profile icon on the top right. Click on My Account, then click on Apps and Devices. Click the Devices dropdown to see the devices on which you installed Office applications. Sign out of the device you wish to remove from your account.
