Writing Center tutor Ramata Diallo was recently interviewed by the Indiana Gazette to discuss her journey to Indiana University of Pennsylvania from her home country of Mali.

Diallo, a master’s candidate in the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program, volunteer tutor in the Jones White Writing Center, and Fulbright Scholar, overcame incredible obstacles in obtaining her education in Mali and traveling to the United States to continue her studies. Upon receiving her master’s degree, Diallo plans to earn her PhD and return to Mali with the intent of reforming women’s access to education.
