The spring semester offers annual opportunities for faculty to apply for Faculty Recognition Awards. There are currently 13 award categories for which faculty can apply, ranging from academic advising to excellent teaching associates, and many categories in between.
The Center for Teaching Excellence is excited to offer a brand new award category: the OER/Affordable Learning Solutions Faculty Recognition Award, funded by IUP Libraries. This award recognizes excellence by faculty curators, creators, and adopters of Open Educational Resources or affordable educational resources.
Open Educational Resources are teaching materials ranging from lessons to full textbooks that are free or low cost for students to use and faculty to adopt and revise as needed. Affordable learning initiatives reduce costs for students by substituting resources that are low or no cost to students, replacing commercial textbooks they would otherwise need to purchase.
Faculty interested in applying for the faculty recognition awards should submit an application on InfoReady by Monday, March 28, 2022. Awards are by self-nomination only.
Award winners will be announced at the Faculty Recognition Dinner on Thursday, April 21, 2022.
