The Student Affairs in Higher Education program celebrated graduating students and recognized three graduate students and an alumna for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions during the program’s annual banquet on Wednesday, May 6, which was coordinated by Associates for Student Development.

The first award presented was the 2026 Outstanding Scholar Award, which recognizes academic excellence and the ability to positively enhance the learning environment for fellow students. This year, the award was presented to two students, Abigail L. Hancox and Tristan Pfeiffer.

The second award presented was the 2026 S. Trevor Hadley Outstanding Student Award, recognizing academic achievement and significant service to both campus and professional communities. The award was presented to Hunter Bash and honors the top graduating student in the SAHE program.

Also recognized during the banquet was Susan Storrick Timko (SAHE Class of 1991), recipient of the 2026 Ronald Lunardini Distinguished Alumni Award. Timko announced that she would donate the award funds to the IUP Food Pantry and Help Center.

During the banquet, Hunter Bash delivered the student address on behalf of the Class of 2026. Since 2001, a graduating student has been selected to speak on behalf of the class. While the speech was originally delivered during the departmental graduation ceremony, it has been presented at the banquet in recent years.

The Student Affairs in Higher Education program’s students, faculty, and alumni proudly congratulate the honorees and the entire SAHE Class of 2026 on their accomplishments.
