John Wesley Lowery, professor in the Student Affairs in Higher Education program, was a keynote speaker at the Mississippi State University Legal Issues Conference in Starkville on December 4.
His keynote address, “Shock and Awe 2025: Higher Education’s Tortured Era,” focused on the significant challenges facing institutions of higher education as a result of changes in federal policy over the past year. He also presented concurrent sessions on FERPA and the Clery Act.
The conference is attended by student affairs and higher education administrators from across the Southeast, including the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas.
