Mimi Benjamin, professor in the Student Affairs in Higher Education program, was the keynote speaker at the National Learning Communities Association’s annual conference in Ames, Iowa, on Tuesday, November 4.

Her address, “Learning Communities as a Blueprint for Home,” highlighted how learning communities sit at the intersection of the concept of home, engaged learning, and ways to successfully gather.

Benjamin began working with and studying learning communities as a doctoral student at Iowa State University, which hosted this year’s conference and celebrated 30 years of learning communities on campus.
