NASPA 2025 Region 2 annual conference logoMimi Benjamin, professor in the Student Affairs in Higher Education program, and Tom Segar, vice president for Student Affairs, presented “IUP’s Crimson Scholars Circle: A Student Affairs/Faculty Partnership for Continued Improvement” at the NASPA Region II conference, held in Pittsburgh June 2–4, 2025.

The presentation focused on the partnership between Benjamin’s SAHE 634: Assessment and Evaluation in Student Affairs course with the Division of Student Affairs, with a specific focus on one program for which the students in the course have conducted regular assessments—the Crimson Scholars Circle. Benjamin highlighted the course and how assessment projects are structured, while Segar explained the Crimson Scholars Circle program. Additionally, Benjamin shared some research data on the experiences of CSC peer mentors.

NASPA Region II is comprised of student affairs professionals and faculty from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Washington, DC. This year’s conference, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh, drew 400 attendees.
