The IUP Food Pantry and Help Center is collaborating with various departments, organizations, clubs, and programs across campus to support students in need. With the ongoing challenges in the financial climate and growing food insecurities, the demand for food and personal care resources continues to rise, and IUP is stepping up to meet that need.
Through the collective support of the Division of Student Affairs, Office of Student Inclusion, Housing, Crimson Scholars Circle, Promising Scholars Program, Susan Graham and the Counseling Center, Student Government Association, the Honors College, Omega Psi Phi, and others, we’re launching a campus-wide food drive from November 10 through December 8.
“We continue to be extremely grateful for the ongoing support from the IUP and Indiana community for the Food Pantry and Help Center,” IUP Executive Director of Student Inclusion Roger Briscoe II said.
“So many groups and organizations have made donations to the Food Pantry and Help Center an annual tradition, like the IUP Ambassadors, who continued their tradition of donating $800 from their Homecoming float prize to the project.
“It’s especially heartwarming to see students so committed to taking care of one another, and to making support for the Food Pantry and Help Center an ongoing priority,” Briscoe said.
Donation bins will be located across campus, from the HUB to Sutton, Zink, and everywhere in between. As you prepare to head home for Thanksgiving break, consider bringing back items to donate! Every contribution helps another student in our community.
