Friends,

The safety and wellbeing of everyone is our priority. You will notice an increase in police presence through town in the coming weeks -with our focused attention on assuring safe Homecoming and Halloween weekends. We are here for you -never against. Gatherings and celebratory activity can only be safe if we work together, watch out for each other, make good choices, and recognize that dangers do exist. We need you to keep these things in mind:

  • Uninvited guests will appear when parties are advertised on social media.
  • The intentions of uninvited guests and strangers can't be easily known.
  • Visitors do not share your same sense of community pride and responsibility.
  • Not everyone you meet will care about you or your best interests.
  • Arguments can quickly turn into physical violence.
  • Large gatherings will get out of your control quickly.
  • Even the best intentions of many can be subverted by the actions of a few.
  • Intoxication impairs judgement.
  • Gathering on rooftops is prohibited and unsafe.
  • Our neighbors cannot avoid being impacted by loud indoor and large outdoor events.
  • If you see something suspicious, or feel something isn't right, report it immediately.

We are all safer working together and we need your attention, support, and partnership!

Sincerely,

Chief Justin Schawl
Lieutenant Chris Terrana
Sheriff Robert Fyock
Chief Tim Stringer
