Welcome to the first week of classes! We’re excited to have you here and can’t wait to see what you accomplish this semester.
Your success at IUP starts right away—whether you’re stepping into the classroom or logging into your courses online. Attending and participating in class isn’t just about staying on track academically; it’s also essential for protecting your financial aid. Federal regulations require instructors to report students who don’t attend class, which could result in delayed or lost financial aid.
If something comes up and you can’t make it to class, be sure to communicate with your instructor as soon as possible. Students who do not attend during the first week may receive an “N” grade, which can negatively impact financial aid eligibility.
Remember, you’re not in this alone. The entire IUP community is here to support you. If you need help or have questions, reach out to:
- Your course instructors
- Your academic advisor
- Your college dean’s office
- Your navigator
You can also take advantage of the academic resources available through University College. If you need assistance, contact University College at universitycollege-inquiry@iup.edu.
