Dear IUP Students,
I wanted to make you aware of a recent message from Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf related to college and university students and the COVID-19 vaccine.
This press release was distributed on April 14: Wolf Administration Encourages All College Students to Receive COVID-19 Vaccine Before the Semester Ends, offers information and links to vaccine providers in Pennsylvania.
As I shared with you on April 7, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, vaccination is one of the best defenses against the COVID-19 virus. To find out more information about vaccinations, please refer to the CDC website.
If you have any questions about the vaccine, you may contact the IUP Health Service Office at health-inquiry@iup.edu. Information about finding vaccine providers is available on the Pennsylvania Department of Health site.
Vaccines are not required for students or employees.
Free COVID-19 testing for students continues to be offered at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; registration for testing is available on this portal.
Health and safety guidelines - face coverings and social distancing - continue to be required on campus. Thank you for continuing to follow these guidelines to keep yourself—and our community— safe during this difficult time.
I wish you all the best as we enter the last few weeks of the semester.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tom Segar
