The IUP Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic provides diagnostic and treatment services for persons with speech, language, and hearing disabilities. Services are available to all without regard to age, citizenship, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status.

IUP Education Majors

All IUP students majoring in education are required to have a speech and hearing screening for admission to teacher certification. Clinics are scheduled several times each semester. No appointment is necessary. Please bring your I-Card and know your advisor's name.

What Services do We Provide?

People with communication disorders are young, old, and in-between. Their problems may have existed from birth or resulted from illness, accident, or injury.

The clinic serves both the university and the regional community. More than 1,000 persons of all ages are served each year, including persons with disabilities, persons with hearing impairment, and senior citizens.

Practical Experience for Students

The Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic provides closely supervised practical experience for 125 graduate and undergraduate students. Completion of the required hours of supervised clinical experience is one of several requirements to obtain graduate and undergraduate degrees in Speech-Language Pathology at IUP. Clinic Hours and Appointments

Evaluation and therapy services are provided throughout the year and follow the IUP academic calendar. Our clinic is open Monday through Friday. Hours of operation vary by semester and include both morning and afternoon appointments. Late afternoon appointments are also available to accommodate your after-work and school needs.
