College Credit for IUP Students

IUP students who successfully complete the EMT course at IUP are eligible for up to four transfer credits through the Department of Kinesiology, Health and Sport Science. Information can be obtained through the EMS Coordinator.

The EMT Training Program is a "clock hour" certificate program. Students who complete the EMY certificate with IUP, may be able to utilize the "4 credit hour transfer agreement.

The certifcate program is ineligible for federal financial aid. This means that current undergraduate/graduate students enrolled in a credit hour degree program cannot utlize the certificate clock hours to meet financial aid (including scholarship) eligibility requirements. Nor will the EMT certificate clock hours be eligible for federal, state or institutional financial aid. Students considering concurrent enrollment in both the EMT certificate and degree programs should conatct the Office of Financial Aid to inquire how this decision may impact their financial aid awards.
