LTC Dennis W. Faulkner

Professor of Military Science

LTC Dennis FaulknerLieutenant Colonel Dennis Faulkner began his military career in June 1991 enlisting as a supply specialist with 3/75th Ranger BN at Ft. Benning, Georgia. Here he served as a supply tech, supply SGT, and Property Book Office NCO all with HHC 3/75th, achieving the rank of SGT before being accepted into the Green to Gold program in 1995. During his assignment he deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in support of the humanitarian mission to Haiti. He graduated from California State University of Sacramento with a BS degree in business and was commissioned as an infantry officer in 1999. His first duty assignment was with 2-35 Infantry BN at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he served as a rifle platoon leader, support platoon leader, and HHC XO. He then attended the Infantry Captains Career Course at Ft. Benning and was assigned to the 10th MTN DIV at Ft. Drum, New York, upon completion. While assigned with the 10th MTN, LTC Faulkner served in the G3 section at the DIV HQ and as the S3 Air for 1st BDE, deploying twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan; later he was assigned to 1-87 IN BN. While with 1-87 IN, LTC Faulkner served as the HHC and a company commander deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. Following company command, he attended the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California, earning a Master of Arts degree in National Security Affairs with a focus on the Middle East. From 2008 to 2010, LTC Faulkner commanded the North Bay Recruiting Company in Santa Rosa California. In 2010 he was selected to deploy to Iraq as part of the Stability Transition Team assigned to 4th BDE, 3rd IN DIV partnering with Iraqi Army Forces in Ramadi.

Following attendance at the Command and General Staff College for ILE, LTC Faulkner was assigned to 3d Squadron, 3d Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Hood, Texas. Here he served as the operations and executive officer; in 2014 he deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF as part of the Military Advisor Team with the 3d Cavalry Regiment. In 2015, LTC Faulkner was assigned to US Army Alaska serving as the chief of Training for the G3 with duty at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. Most recently LTC Faulkner serves as a professor of Military Science at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

LTC Faulkner is a graduate of Airborne School, Pathfinder School, Ranger School, Belgian Commando Course, Joint Firepower Control Course, US Army's Command and General Staff College, and he holds a MA degree in national security affairs from the Naval Post Graduate School. His primary awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (Oak Leaf Cluster), Expert Infantryman's Badge, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Airborne Badge, Pathfinder Badge, and the Ranger Tab.

Dennis and Lori Faulkner are both natives of Loomis, California, and have been married for over 25 years. They have two beautiful daughters: Madeline (13) and Sophia (11).
