IUP Nursing Professor Shellenbarger Selected for National Nurse Faculty Leadership Academy

Teresa Shellenbarger, professor in Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Nursing and Allied Health Professions, has been selected by Sigma Theta Tau International, the international honor society of nursing, and the Elsevier Foundation, for the 2016–17 Nurse Faculty Leadership Academy.

Respiratory Care Student Winners

On March 3, 2016, senior students from the IUP/WPH (Indiana University of Pennsylvania/Western Pennsylvania Hospital) School of Respiratory Care traveled to Seven Springs Resort to attend the Cambria Somerset Council’s Conference at the Slopes, a respiratory care and sleep medicine conference.

IUP Nursing to Host Panel on Stopping System Errors in the Healthcare World

The IUP Nursing Department will host a panel discussion on April 1, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. to noon on “Stopping System Errors in the Healthcare World.” The presentation, free and open to the community, will be held in room 126 of the IUP Humanities and Social Sciences building.

IUP Nursing Graduates Score High on NCLEX-RN Pass Rate

The first-time passing rate for graduates of Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s bachelor’s degree program in nursing surpassed the national average for the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) exam during the October, 2014, to September, 2015, reporting year.

IUP Ranked in Top 10 Percent of America’s Best Nursing Schools

Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s nursing program has been ranked in the top 10 percent of programs in the eastern United States by NurseJournal.org. IUP is one of only three programs in Pennsylvania ranked in the top 10 percent.
