Moore of AstraZeneca to Discuss Cancer Immunotherapy and Optimizing Combination Drug Regimens

Helen Moore, principal scientist at AstraZeneca, will meet with students and faculty and give two lectures on February 7, 2019. Her lectures are titled “Using Mathematics to Predict Which Cancer Patients Will Respond to Immunotherapy” and “How to Mathematically Optimize Combination Drug Regimens.”

Research Presentation on Unhealthy Alcohol Use

Vanessa Torres, MPH, will give a presentation on her dissertation research on Monday, November 12, 2018, from 1:25 to 2:15 p.m. in room B-10 of the Humanities and Social Sciences Building. Her talk, which is intended for students, will focus on her research on the topic of unhealthy alcohol use among Latino day laborers.

IUP Sociology Professor Selected as Director of Public Health Program

Diane Shinberg, a faculty member in the Department of Sociology at IUP, has been selected as the director of IUP’s new Public Health program. The program in Public Health is interdisciplinary, leveraging faculty, existing coursework ,and infrastructure from three IUP colleges: Health and Human Services; Humanities and Social Sciences; and Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health, PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision Added to IUP Offerings

Indiana University of Pennsylvania is actively enrolling students for its new Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health and new PhD program in Counselor Education and Supervision following today’s formal approval of the programs by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors. Students may begin work in these courses of study in fall 2017.
