Students, I know this fall has been an extraordinarily difficult semester.

I remain proud of how you have persevered and maintained focus on your studies while taking care of yourselves and one another by wearing masks and observing social-distancing guidelines. Thank you.

We continue to be here for you. Do not hesitate to reach out to your faculty members, to other employees, or to the Counseling Center if you need help. Counseling Center personnel will be available by telephone (724-357-2621) to guide you to services you may need.

I want to remind you that today is the deadline to take advantage of the pass-fail option for this semester. There is a checklist of instructions for this process; please make sure to work with your academic advisor before choosing this alternative.

For the spring semester, we are planning to operate according to our Fall Rebalance Plan, which is designed to reduce transmission of the virus by reducing the number of people on campus through hybrid coursework and distance learning. As you register for spring classes, please make sure you understand the delivery method of your courses. Your advisor or your course instructor is the best source of this information.

Because conditions related to the coronavirus pandemic shift very rapidly, our plans may evolve over the break. Please monitor your email and the IUP website for the latest information.

I want to wish you all the best as you complete your finals. Please continue to follow health and safety guidelines as you enjoy this well-deserved winter break. Happy holidays to you and your families.
