On Thursday, the IUP Council of Trustees endorsed the process and goals of the Diversity Action Plan.
I want to thank, once again, the President's Commission on Diversity and Inclusion for its careful work. I also want to thank those who served on the commission's subcommittees and the many members of the community who provided feedback about the draft plan. This has been a true collaborative process that has included members from every division of the university as well as members of our Indiana community. Your work to advance this important process speaks volumes about our commitment to a university where all are welcome to learn, to work, and to live.
While some initiatives are in place and others are in process, there is still much work left to be done and much discussion needed on how best to meet the goals of this plan. I know that I can count on the IUP community to continue to work together—in the IUP Way—to make IUP the place and the people we know we should be and can be.
