Colleagues,

I am saddened to inform you of the sudden loss of Christina Arroyo, a member of the Office of International Education. Ms. Arroyo, who started work at IUP in November 2010, was the international student and scholar advisor. She was a graduate of IUP, earning a bachelor of arts degree in international studies/political science in 2001, a master of arts degree in public affairs in 2008, and a second bachelor's degree in Spanish in 2010.

If you are in contact with students who are struggling with this loss, please let them know they can speak with a counselor by calling 724-357-2621 or by visiting the Counseling Center in the Center for Health and Well-Being, Suites on Maple East. Walk-in hours at the Counseling Center are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Counselors will be available for crisis appointments and consultation and to offer guidance and support during difficult times. Members of the IUP Interfaith Council also are available to talk with those in need of support.
