The entire university community is invited to two annual beginning-of-the-year events.
The State of the University Address takes place Thursday, August 21, at 9:00 a.m. in Fisher Auditorium. At this event, President Tony Atwater will review last year's accomplishments and set the tone for the new academic year.
The Freshman Convocation also takes place in Fisher Auditorium. It provides a significant start for members of the Class of 2012, comparable to the way students end their college careers. Faculty and staff members are invited to help them mark the beginning of their IUP career, help to set the tone for the next four years, and encourage them to be involved in their campus community. The convocation takes place Sunday, August 24, at 5:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium. A celebration in the Oak Grove follows the program.
