About the University Police

  • The University Police Department employs 21 full-time commissioned police officers at the Indiana Campus and 2 full-time commissioned police officers at the Punxsutawney regional campus to provide police protection to the university 24 hours a day.

    The department has a Criminal Investigations Unit that consists of two full-time investigators and a Bicycle Patrol Unit that consists of four full-time officers. A Crime Prevention Unit consists of full-time officers who dedicate their shifts to patrolling inside the residence halls and providing crime prevention programs as requested.
