Preparing for Transitions

Eleanor Schano

More than 150 people attended the fourth annual IUP Cares program on April 30, 2010.

The event, “Successful Aging: Preparing for Life’s Transitions,” featured award-winning Pittsburgh broadcast professional Eleanor Schano as the keynote presenter.

Schano has worked for more than five decades in broadcasting. She is the author of Riding the (Air)Waves: The Life and Televised Times of Eleanor Schano.

Concurrent sessions offered throughout the day included “Staying Connected, Let Technology Change your Life,” “Changing Family Roles,” “End of Life Issues,” “Preparing for Long-Term Care,” “Lifelong Learning: Finding Your Retirement Passion,” “Living Longer Better: Physical Activity and Nutrition,” and “Income Security: Hanging on Financially.” The IUP Cares programming is an initiative of President Tony Atwater.
