Undergraduate Scholars Forum Tradition Continuing

Undergraduate Scholars Forum

More than 250 presenters are expected to be part of IUP’s fifth annual Undergraduate Scholars Forum on April 1.

The forum, originated by President Tony Atwater, provides all undergraduate students with an opportunity for scholarly development by presenting their original research, scholarly activities, teacher work samples, or creative endeavors.

The conference is designed to foster scholarship and collegiality among undergraduate students and faculty members and to provide a forum for undergraduate students to discuss their academic work with fellow scholars. Participation is open to any student currently enrolled in any undergraduate program at IUP. Submissions represent high-quality work that goes beyond the typical classroom assignment, and participants have a faculty sponsor who will attest to the quality of the work. Research done in collaboration with faculty, other students, or practicing professionals is eligible as long as the student has played a substantial role in the activity.

All members of the community are invited to attend all or part of the April 1 forum, which will take place at the Hadley Union Building. A complete schedule of presentations will be available on the IUP website closer to the event. Pictured above is the poster session from the 2009 program.
