IUP Funding PHEAA Grants

Until the final commonwealth budget is determined, IUP will fund Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) state grants for IUP students.

“It is important to us that our students and their families be protected and supported due to the uncertainty as to the adoption of the commonwealth’s 2010 fiscal budget,” President Tony Atwater said. “This action assures that IUP students will have uninterrupted processing of financial aid for the Fall 2009 semester.”

Students who are expecting to receive a Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency grant for Fall 2009 will receive an amount equal to the current state grant award credited on their accounts. If the final commonwealth budget requires that PHEAA reduce a student’s PHEAA state grant award, a balance on student accounts for which students will be responsible may be the result.
