Open For Business

The Sutton Suites (pictured below) and the Suites on Pratt, the Phase III buildings of the Student Residential Revival project, will open this fall. Ribbon cutting for these buildings will take place September 24 at 10 a.m. in the Sutton Suites quad.

Sutton Suites

The new buildings offer almost 1,100 beds for students. The Sutton Suites is designed to reflect the architecture of Sutton Hall, the university’s main administration building. It is a global awareness community and includes an Asian studies cluster and a Piso Cervantes (Spanish) cluster.

The building includes a number of rooms for meetings and recreation, as well as a multipurpose room that accommodates up to 150 people. The Suites on Pratt, the business community for 2009-2010, will remain open during university breaks to accommodate international students. The $270-million Student Residential Revival, a partnership between the Foundation for IUP and IUP, will be completed in Fall 2010 with the opening of the Crimson Suites, located at the site of the former Governor’s Quad (the Lawrence-Scranton-Shafer complex). When the Crimson Suites open, the Suites on Pratt will become the leadership development community, and the Crimson Suites will be home to the business community.
