Junior Sarah Romasco has been selected as a first team member of the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II squad for women’s soccer and will be on the ballot for Academic All-America honors.

Romasco earned a spot on the team on the strength of her performance on the field and in the classroom. Through the Spring 2008 semester she maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.74 as a math education major and has been on the Dean’s List each semester, including two with a 4.0 average. On the field, Romasco has been one of the top players in IUP history, currently ranking second on the school career chart in goals with 56, assists with 31, and points with 143.

Doctoral Student and teaching associate Shelly Clevenger won the Graduate Student Paper Award from the American Society of Criminology.

Shelly Clevenger, Department of Criminology doctoral student and teaching associate, won the 2008 Graduate Student Paper award of the American Society of Criminology, Division of Women and Crime, for her paper “Rape Prevention Through Education: Examining the Effectiveness of College-Based Rape Education Prevention Programs.”
